The second Tea Festival kicks off in Thai Nguyen

(Cinet)– On November 09, in Thai Nguyen province, People’s Committee of Thai Nguyen province in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism held the second Tea Festival.

The second Tea Festival in Thai Nguyen - Vietnam was held to continue to honor the tea plant, the tea products and culture, introduce and promote the image of the country and people of Vietnam, provinces, cities and Thai Nguyen province; further improve production efficiency for tea plant and tea products, continues to affirm "First Name" tea brand to tourists domestic and international. Concurrently, it is vital to keep strengthening business relationships, links, investment and cooperation in all fields, especially the tea development, production, processing and consumption of tea with the provinces in the country and on international markets, ect.

Addressing the ceremony, Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Sinh Hung praised farmers and businesses for their efforts to make Viet Nam's tea internationally famous.

He thanked the international community for their assistance to the development of the tea sector in Viet Nam.

He said he believed that together with endeavours made by Thai Nguyen and other tea-growing localities, Viet Nam's tea industry would further mature and the tea culture would grow in stature both at home and abroad.

A wide range of activities including a tea culture festival, a tea carnival, conferences on tea products and tourism promotion, the Miss Tea Land Contest, an exhibition of photos capturing the beauty of Vietnam’s land, people and Thai Nguyen tea, and a market introducing specialties of Vietnamese ethnic groups are taking place during the three-day event.

Thanks to favourable natural and weather conditions, Thai Nguyen tea products are presented in many cities and provinces nationwide and are also exported to foreign markets. The province’s tea export value accounts for one third of the country’s total.
