The Ky Yen Festival lasts five days (from the 10th day to the 14th day of the second lunar month) at the Binh Dong communal house, which is located on the banks of Ba Tang canal and is one of the two communal houses which receive the largest number of visitors and worshippers in Ho Chi Minh City.
The Buffalo Fight in Do Son (Haiphong City) is officially held every year on the 9th day of the eighth month of the lunar calendar. There are, in fact, two rounds of elimination before the middle of the fifth month and 8th day of the sixth lunar month.
The festival takes place from the 14th to the 16th days of the third lunar month. Legend has it that the 15th day of the third lunar month was the coronation of King Ly Cong Uan. Later generations chose the day as a common festival to pay homage to kings of the Ly Dynasty.
